Airbus have been delaying this long-awaited aircraft for what seems like forever. It seems like everyday in the news that people are cancelling orders for it etc and turning to Boeing instead.
IMO, Airbus have blown it with this beast. They should not have taken any orders until the knew that it would be 100% manufacturable, servicaeable, flyable and most of all, safe.
I believe it will never have the success of the B747 if it ever gets into service.
The idea is great and I would love to see this gigantic jet in and out of Heathrow, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, New York etc, but now I just cannot see it happening.

I agree with you at 100% These days lots of airlines are canelling the A380's because this beast is always being delayed I perssonly Like the A380, but i don't think it would be a big success and alot of airports can't handle the sheer! size of the beast

UPS also had an order but according to the news they two have cancelled meaning there are no orders for the A380F but i am sure airbus can find some. I personally don't know whether the A380 will ever be a success because the way we travel is spliting. Most of us want to travel point to point like you would on the 787 (this of course doesn't include spotters who are willing to go through as many airports as possible). The large airports that cannot really expand will need the A380 but some cannot handle it as they currently are. Only time will tell and as hard as it is we will just have to wait and see

I don't think it will ever be as successful as the 747 but it will enter airline service but not in the numbers needed to be a financial success. It is too big for GLA EDI LBA NCL MME and airports like them and will only be used on high density routes such as to DBX SIN JFK and the such like. All this promised luxury is only a dream as to out fit the aircraft the way we are told it can with shops and bars and gyms ect be would mean reducing the number of seats which reduces the amount of revenue generated so the seat per mile cost would have to go up to support all of this luxury and the idea is to reduce the cost to the passenger not to increace it so we will see real luxury up front in first class ata cost to the very rich only and an added value service for club but for us poor souls who dont have too much to spend we will be in a vast cabin with another 400 people and it will not be any different from any other flight apart from the large numbers of people onboard.

Seeing it has so many problems it could cost Airbus millions just to correct the problem... I'm not saying it won't be a success and fly again but it's soo big and has a heap full of problems again it could cost Airbus millions or even billions.......

There seems to be a problem with the wires. I heard that on some other forum.

Could they not have the whole bottom deck as single class passenger spec and then turn the upsatirs into shops gyms etc for which there is a further charge?
