I decided to start a thread to say goodbye to three airlines that will be sadly missed when they leave Manchester and many other airports later this year.
Firstly goodbye to BA Connect, the BA Aircraft i am sure will be missed from Manchester, however there departure will see some changes to the BA terminal and and BA hangars at Manchester. For example rumours are spreading that the old BA maintainance hangar will become a biz jet maintainance hangar. Although the livery may not be completly gone because BA continues to carry it the aircraft (Dash 8, EMB 145 and 146 will be gone)
Secondly a goodbye to SN Brussels who will shortly become Brussels Int. I miss the old colours already as the three aircraft i have seen recently carried the new colours.
Finally good bye to My Travel U.K. as they are a part of TCX now.
I am also considering asking about a photo display at Manchester dedicated to these airlines that are soon to be gone forever.

I always feel sad when an Airline that we have come to love disapears. I being a good bit older than most of you young guys have seen many fade away over the years and I must say very few new Airlines have come along to match the old ones.
I remember airlines such as, well it needs to come first in my mind, Caledonian Airways, then there was British Eagle, Laker, Cambrian, Dan-Air, Invicta, Donaldson, Lloyd International, British United, Air Anglia, and so many other British Airlines plus all the Canadian, US and Europeans that visited Scotland.
If you can get onto a website that has pictures of some of these old airliners just look at the colours and the beautiful lines that were skillfully applied.

I have seen pictures a a fair few of these and do actually remember the likes of Caledonian Airways and i can also remember many liveries that are gone forever. Maybe setting up a website dedicated to airlines no longer with us would be good. Those DC10's and Tristars of Caledonian used to come to Manchester all the time. Never officially logged them but i know i have seen most of them. Its such as shame that the Tristar at STN is not in there full colours. I am sure there are many more for example i remember Flying Colours and then they became JMC Air and they too disappeared and became TCX.
