Please submit your idea on the best airline ever to have served (or still serving) the aviation industry.
Criteria for this one:
1. Airline must carry passengers (but can have freight operations) 2. The airline has to operate more then 5 aircraft 3. The aircraft must have run successfully for more then 5 years
I can already see one that isnt going to make the garde due to the sheer dislike of the company... 'Rottenair' aka Ryanair

Well as you said not Ryanair. The airlines i think deserve this title are:
British Airways (As they probably have the best service in the world, granted its expensive but its dam good)
Emirates (What can i say they have grown rapidly and are now a market leader in the middle east and around the world)
Qantas (for restoring a 707 and flying it home to Australia for many spotters to enjoy) yes a bit of a joke really but its a good enough reason for me
Lufthansa i would also say is in the running alongside KLM (pre Air France)

I do agree with you sjr that British Airways are among the best as is Singapore. I always liked Air Canada.
Airlines like Pan-Am and TWA offered very good service as did British United.
My top charter airline was the late great Sir Adam Thompson's Caledonian Airways later to merge with BUA to become British Caledonian who were fantastic but old Freddy's Laker Airways did a good job also.
Never flown with Virgine but they tell me they are good.
Egypt Air and Garuda NO WAY.
