Air Canada will be replacing all their airplanes with these 777's and 787's so that means it will be replacing almost relatively new A340-500's, and sending these 777's and 787's on medium haul routes like YYZ-POS, and YYZ - Aruba?

Fair enough... They wont be delivered for a while but that will cost them quite a bit

Certainly will. Its been a few years since AC decided to go all Airbus but it now looks like they have changed there mind. Most likely because the A340's are always going tech and costing them so much in delay costs

wouldn't blame them if it was costing them money for every delay and tech diff they have... might aswell replace while they can.... those A340's are relatively new airplanbes though... not a big fan of airbus' but it will be a shame to see them leave YYZ.......

They may well be leaving for the following airlines US Airways (A345) ? Varig (A343)?
Either way i would love to see both of those. Particularly the Varig A340-300 as i think that is ideal for there needs on most international routes

I am sure they will have a much easier time finding new homes for the A330-300's they have as they are more popular

A345's for TAM the others have gone randomly to other carriers with most leaving for Swiss. I saw two T7s at Frankfurt during my stay there on my Europe trip. Very nice indeed.
