European Trip

As some of you may already know i have an upcomming trip to the the mainlands of Europe. I will post my logs at each of these airports:

SPOTTING INFO

Cologne has a viewing terrace above the terminal but the view doesn't allow to see everything.

Brussels doesn't have a spotting terrace but spotting can be done from either of the multi storey car parks

Zurich has a terrace but there is a charge of 2 swiss francs for using it and it is not open all the time. Although i didn't have time to do a ramp tour they are available at Zurich. There are also two very good multi storey car parks which show views of parts of the airport.

Dusseldorf has two viewing terraces and again there is a charge for using them. One is situated on top of the terminal and the other at the nearby railway station. From the railway station it is easy to take photos of landing aircraft and taxying aircraft and all aircraft except for business jets parked up will taxy past provided that the wind is right

Munich has two mounds and one terrace. I used the mound at the musuem which had a charge of two euros. This was an excellent site since it displayed most of the airport. Both runways can be seen and there are also some aircraft displays.

Frankfurt does have a terrace but this was closed due to construction work. As a result we used a site near a motorway bridge on a public footpath. This site is easy to access and has potential for excellent photography but sadly there is no shelter

Paris Orly has a viewing terrace above the terminal but it has glass which makes photography difficult. Although to take photographs at airports in France i would recommend getting a photography permit. This generally wasn't a problem at Orly but it was more so at CDG

Paris CDG again has a mound near a busy intersection. Some traffic can be hard to read off and as a result we did miss some but the photography potential is excellent. The mound is situated near the a bus terminal.
